One of the East Midlands’ fastest growing architectural design and property consultancy, The Martin Design Partnership, has been appointed to oversee a major expansion and refurbishment programme on behalf of Leicestershire’s leading car dealer, Walter E Sturgess & Sons.
The work at the Aylestone Road premises will see a 2000sq ft expansion to Sturgess’s existing Hyundai and Fiat show rooms to accommodate a brand new Suzuki dealership, which when complete will make it the largest multi-franchise site in Leicestershire.
As well as providing project management and architectural services on the project, The Martin Design Partnership is tasked with redesigning the overall site which includes new office layouts, refurbishment of existing accommodation, forecourt design and traffic flow management.
Scott Moore, Managing Partner, TMDP commented: “This is an important expansion programme for Sturgess Motor Group and one which will consolidate three major car brands under one roof, whilst still retaining their individual identities.
“Our long standing relationship with Sturgess has enabled us to understand exactly what is required at Aylestone Road and we look forward to seeing our input help take them into the next phase of their on-going expansion.”
Barney Sturgess, Managing Director, Sturgess said: “Suzuki is a brand that exemplifies fun and value and has enjoyed great success nationally over the last couple of years. Leicester has not had consistent representation within the city for some time and so with our appointment last year, and now the new facility that we are developing, we hope to become a great partner for both the Suzuki brand and it’s customers for the long term.
When complete in February 2015, the expanded dealership will give Suzuki a permanent presence in Leicestershire and complement the brands already on offer at The Sturgess Group dealerships.
